On Wednesday evening, security forces in Taiz Governorate successfully apprehended the suspect in the murder of Assistant Musa Mohammed Ahmed Naaman, a member of the emergency forces. This arrest occurred just hours after the tragic incident.
Incident Details
According to the Security Media outlet, Brigadier General Jamil Al-Salahi, head of the Criminal Investigation Department, reported that the victim was killed while performing his duty to protect citizens. He intervened to stop the suspect from firing indiscriminately into the air, warning him about the potential danger to civilian lives.
Fatal Shooting
Al-Salahi explained that the suspect responded by aiming his weapon at the officer and firing, resulting in a gunshot wound to the chest. The officer succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to a local hospital.
Immediate Response by Authorities
Upon receiving the report, security forces promptly initiated legal procedures. Teams from forensic evidence, investigations, and the assault and murder division arrived at the crime scene to collect evidence and gather initial information.
Swift Apprehension of the Suspect
A team led by Major Issa Al-Kamil, in collaboration with the arrest unit, managed to track down and apprehend the suspect in record time. Authorities have placed him in custody to complete the legal procedures before referring him to the appropriate judicial bodies.
