Defense Minister: We will confront and address hostile aircraft violating Yemeni airspace using all available means.

Yemeni Defense Minister Vows Strong Response to Airspace Violations

In a recent statement, Yemeni Defense Minister Major General Taher Al-Aqili emphasized the government’s commitment to defending Yemen’s airspace. He declared, “We will confront and deal with hostile aircraft violating Yemeni airspace and sovereignty using all available means. We aim to teach the enemy a lesson that resonates far and wide, ensuring future generations learn from it.”

Diplomatic Efforts to Address Iranian Violations

Al-Aqili highlighted the Yemeni government’s ongoing diplomatic efforts, in collaboration with regional and international partners, to persuade the Iranian regime and Houthi militias in Sana’a to respect Yemeni airspace. He noted that this recent violation marks a significant challenge to international legitimacy, differing from previous incursions.

A Call to Action

In his address to the armed forces and the Yemeni people, Al-Aqili expressed frustration over the situation, stating, “Our patience has worn thin. We will respond appropriately to this treacherous act.” He reiterated the government’s resolve to protect Yemen’s sovereignty by confronting hostile aircraft with all available resources.

Responsibility and Accountability

The Minister placed full moral and legal responsibility on the Iranian regime for these violations. He asserted, “Yemen has a people and leadership that will defend the nation by land, sea, and air, regardless of the consequences.” Al-Aqili concluded with a strong message against the Houthi movement and its supporters, declaring, “God is great, and shame and disgrace belong to the project of imamate and its backers.”

This statement underscores Yemen’s determination to safeguard its sovereignty amid ongoing regional tensions. The government’s proactive stance aims to rally support from both the military and the public in the face of external threats.
