International Exhibition Opens in Geneva: “Mirrors of Shadows for the Unseen”

Today, the United Nations Square in Geneva, Switzerland, hosted the opening of the international exhibition titled “Mirrors of Shadows for the Unseen.” This event, organized by the Humanitarian Rights Association and the Cultural and Humanitarian Caravan for Arts, coincides with the 62nd session of the Human Rights Council.

Highlighting Human Rights Violations in Yemen

The exhibition aims to shed light on the violations committed by the Houthi militia against civilians in Yemen. Through various artistic and visual documentation, the event seeks to convey the suffering of victims to the international community.

Art as a Tool for Advocacy

Organizers emphasized that the exhibition utilizes art as a human rights tool to document the ongoing situation in Yemen. It features multiple sections that highlight the disruption of state institutions, the worsening humanitarian crisis, and the targeting of vital sectors such as education, health, and the economy. Additionally, the exhibition addresses the environmental and social impacts of the conflict.

Preserving Cultural Memory

The exhibition also focuses on the stolen memory by showcasing the attacks on cultural identity and historical sites. Organizers stated that the event aims to provide a visual testimony to the international community regarding the extent of these violations.

Call for International Accountability

The organizers called for the activation of international accountability mechanisms and an end to impunity. They argued that the continuing international silence contributes to the worsening humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

This exhibition serves as a crucial platform to raise awareness and advocate for change in the face of ongoing human rights abuses.
