Emergency Teams Destroy 1,354 Explosive Devices in Mukalla

Emergency teams from the “Masam” demining project in Yemen, in collaboration with the Executive Center for Mine Action in Mukalla, have successfully destroyed 1,354 explosive devices, including landmines and unexploded ordnance. This operation aims to protect civilians and secure areas affected by the remnants of war.

Operation Details

The destroyed materials in Mukalla included:

  • 63 82mm mortar shells
  • 14 anti-personnel mines
  • 14 anti-vehicle mines
  • 123 23mm artillery shells
  • 37 37mm artillery shells
  • 16 hand grenades
  • 636 12.7mm rounds
  • 356 artillery fuses

This operation marks the eighth of its kind in Hadhramaut Governorate since mid-January. Consequently, the total amount of materials destroyed by the project teams in the province has reached 15,463 explosive devices since January 17.
