Ministry of Interior Reports on Recent Incidents

On Monday, the Ministry of Interior reported that ten individuals suffered injuries or fatalities due to eleven traffic accidents across several liberated provinces within the last 24 hours. Additionally, security forces apprehended 65 suspects involved in 54 criminal cases, highlighting the government’s commitment to enhancing security and stability.

Details of the Traffic Accidents

According to a report from the General Traffic Police, one person died, and nine others sustained injuries in these accidents. Among the injured, four experienced severe injuries, while five had minor ones. The financial losses from these incidents are estimated at approximately 1.2 million Yemeni Riyals. The accidents included six collisions, four pedestrian incidents, and one fall. Marib province recorded the highest number of accidents with five, followed by Taiz with two. Aden, Hadramout, Al Hudaydah, and Lahij each reported one accident.

In light of these events, the Traffic Police reiterated their call for drivers to adhere to traffic regulations and avoid speeding to protect lives and property.

Criminal Apprehensions and Security Measures

In a related development, the General Command and Control Department announced the arrest of 65 suspects involved in various criminal activities. Theft cases topped the list with twelve incidents, followed by seven cases of minor bodily harm. Other offenses included property damage, verbal abuse, threats, breach of trust, attempted murder, and drug-related charges.

Taiz province recorded the highest number of arrests, with 16 cases and 23 suspects apprehended. Aden followed with eight cases, while Hadramout reported seven, and Marib six. The remaining cases were distributed among the provinces of Al Dhale’e, Lahij, Hadramout Valley, Al Mahrah, the Western Coast, Shabwa, and Hajjah.
