Prime Minister Al-Zandani Returns to Aden After Official Visit to Egypt
On Monday, Dr. Sha’if Mohsen Al-Zandani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Yemen, returned to Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen, following a brief yet impactful official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Strategic Dialogue Between Yemen and Egypt
During his visit, Dr. Al-Zandani chaired the ninth session of the Yemeni-Egyptian Strategic Dialogue. He collaborated closely with Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptians Abroad. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation across various sectors, preparations for the upcoming joint higher committee meeting, and critical issues surrounding Red Sea security, international navigation freedom, and shared regional challenges.
Strengthening Bilateral Partnerships and Support
In addition to the strategic dialogue, Dr. Al-Zandani held a meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly. Their discussions revolved around avenues to strengthen bilateral partnerships, particularly in economic and investment cooperation. They explored ways to support the Yemeni government’s efforts to restore state institutions and achieve stability, alongside addressing the needs of the Yemeni community and expatriates seeking medical treatment and education in Egypt.
Upon his arrival at Aden International Airport, Dr. Al-Zandani conveyed that the discussions in Cairo yielded fruitful and constructive outcomes. He emphasized the deep historical ties between Yemen and Egypt, noting a shared vision on key geopolitical and security issues. This includes coordination to protect international navigation in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden while addressing threats to Arab national security.
Dr. Al-Zandani further highlighted Egypt’s unwavering support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government. He acknowledged Egypt’s readiness to provide various forms of political, diplomatic, and developmental assistance, along with sharing expertise in infrastructure development. He praised the existing coordination and cooperation between the two countries and expressed a mutual commitment to enhance these relations for their shared interests.
