Saudi Media Forum Concludes with Award Winners Announced

The fifth edition of the Saudi Media Forum wrapped up yesterday, featuring the announcement of award winners across various categories. The event took place in the presence of Saudi Minister of Media, Salman Al-Dosari.

Global Participation and Innovative Initiatives

Mohammed Al-Harthi, the forum’s president, highlighted the participation of approximately 300 speakers from around the world. This diverse attendance enriched discussions and transformed the event into an exceptional media carnival. Al-Harthi emphasized the forum’s goal to evolve from a seasonal event into a sustainable institutional initiative. Key projects include the “Media Innovation Center,” the “Growth” initiative to support media entrepreneurs, the “Media Ambassadors” program to discover and empower university talents, and the “Light” initiative, which aims to extend the forum’s experience to various regions of the Kingdom.

Future of Media Exhibition

The Future of Media exhibition achieved significant global participation, with over 250 companies showcasing the latest content production technologies. Al-Harthi stated that media today plays a crucial role in development, awareness creation, and driving change, supported by the wise leadership and the Minister of Media’s oversight.

Record-Breaking Attendance

The Saudi Media Forum set a global record with 65,603 visitors, earning a certificate from the Guinness World Records. This achievement reflects the forum’s growing prominence on the international media events map.

Award Winners Announced

During the closing ceremony, the forum announced the winners of its fifth edition awards, reaffirming its commitment to fostering media creativity. Khalid Al-Badr won the award for the best news report, while Abdulhadi Habtour received the award for the best interview. Lama Al-Suhail won in the academic research category.

In the audiovisual media category, the award for AI-generated content went to an undisclosed winner. The Moroccan program “Rachid Show” won the award for social talk shows, and the Ministry of Culture received the podcast and radio talk show award for “Podcast 1949.”

The award for the best media work on National Day went to the Tourism Development Fund for the piece “What Have You Heard About Saudi Arabia?” The Ministry of Defense won for the best work on Foundation Day with the film “Al-Awja.”

Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, advisor at the Royal Court and general supervisor of the King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Aid Center, received the Global Competitor Award. Dr. Mohammed Al-Rumaihi won the award for best opinion column.

In the category for the best media work on Science Day, the Vision 2030 account took home the award.

Media Personality of the Year

Finally, the forum honored Dr. Hussein Najjar as the Media Personality of the Year, recognizing his significant contributions to the field.

This year’s Saudi Media Forum not only celebrated achievements but also set the stage for future innovations in the media landscape.
