President Alimi Consults with Dr. Ben Dagher on Local Developments

On Sunday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with Dr. Ahmed Obaid Ben Dagher, Chairman of the Shura Council and leader of the National Coalition of Political Parties. The two leaders discussed recent developments in the eastern provinces and their implications for the political, economic, and service sectors.

Support from Saudi Arabia and the UAE

During the meeting, President Alimi expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts of the Saudi-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy, particularly the contributions from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He highlighted their role in de-escalating tensions and normalizing conditions in the provinces of Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra. Additionally, he addressed the outcomes of presidential communications regarding the withdrawal of external forces from the eastern provinces and the need to mitigate the effects of escalating tensions on the overall situation in the country.

Commitment to National Unity

President Alimi praised the Shura Council and the National Coalition for their firm stance against any unilateral actions that could weaken state institutions or undermine national partnership in confronting the Iranian-backed Houthi militia. He emphasized the importance of these bodies in safeguarding agreements and building trust among national components.

Upholding the Southern Issue

The President reaffirmed the role of the Shura Council and all state institutions in supporting the Presidential Leadership Council’s efforts to meet current challenges and strengthen the legal standing of the state. He reiterated the government’s unwavering position on the Southern Issue, recognizing it as a legitimate national concern that is integral to any comprehensive political settlement in the future.
