Arab Parliament President Affirms Support for Palestinian Independence on 37th Anniversary

On the 37th anniversary of Palestine’s declaration of independence, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, reiterated the unwavering right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. He emphasized that the Israeli occupation cannot obscure the undeniable truth that Palestinians possess full sovereignty according to international law and resolutions.

Urgent Call for International Action

Al-Yamahi highlighted the necessity of implementing the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and expediting reconstruction efforts under Palestinian management. He urged the international community to fulfill its moral and legal responsibilities regarding this just cause. Furthermore, he condemned all aggressive practices, including settlement policies, forced displacement, and ongoing assaults on Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.

Ongoing Diplomatic Efforts

The Arab Parliament President pointed out the continuous parliamentary and diplomatic efforts aimed at supporting the legitimate rights of Palestinians in their quest for full independence. He renewed the Arab Parliament’s call for regional and international parliaments to recognize the State of Palestine and provide comprehensive support in international forums. He also urged governments to take practical steps that align with their legal and ethical commitments to the Palestinian cause.

Al-Yamahi affirmed that the Arab Parliament will steadfastly stand by the Palestinian people and their non-negotiable national rights. The Parliament will continue its efforts to advocate for these rights until Palestine achieves full independence and secures full membership in the United Nations.
