On Friday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, wrapped up his visit to Cairo, Egypt. He attended the grand opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum at the invitation of his counterpart, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), President Alimi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President El-Sisi, the Egyptian government, and the people of Egypt for their warm welcome and generous hospitality. He praised the impressive organization of the museum’s opening events and highlighted the museum’s significance as a monumental addition to Egypt’s architectural and cultural renaissance across various fields.

Commitment to Strengthening Ties

President Alimi reiterated his appreciation for the support the Yemeni community receives from Egyptian state institutions. He emphasized the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government to enhance mutual cooperation, aiming to serve the interests of both nations at all levels.

The President commended Egypt’s pivotal role in advocating for Arab issues and its relentless efforts to establish regional security and stability. He specifically noted Egypt’s leadership in supporting ceasefire negotiations in Gaza and its initiatives to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Warm Farewell at Cairo International Airport

At Cairo International Airport, President Alimi received a warm farewell from Egyptian Minister of Culture Dr. Ahmed Fouad Henu, Yemeni Ambassador to Cairo Khaled Mahfouz Bahah, and the acting representative of Yemen to the Arab League, Ambassador Dr. Ali Mousa, along with several embassy members.

This visit underscores the ongoing collaboration between Yemen and Egypt, highlighting their shared commitment to cultural and regional development.
