Weather Forecast: Mixed Conditions and Thunderstorms Expected
The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center released a comprehensive weather bulletin today, Saturday. The report predicts partly cloudy and humid conditions along coastal areas, with hot daytime temperatures and moderate nights. Additionally, it highlights the possibility of thunderstorms in parts of the southern, eastern, and western coasts. Wind activity will increase along the coasts, with strong winds expected in the Socotra Archipelago, reaching speeds between 20 to 40 knots.
Heavy Rainfall in Western Highlands
The bulletin also forecasts heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in the western highlands, stretching from Saada to Lahij, including Al-Dhale, Al-Bayda, and Abyan. Parts of Shabwa, Hadramout, and Al-Mahra will also experience similar weather. Meanwhile, desert areas will see partly cloudy and hot to extremely hot conditions during the day, with potential thunderstorms and dust-raising winds.
Temperature Expectations
Expected temperatures will peak in Sayun at 42°C (28°C at night) and Marib at 41°C (27°C at night). The lowest temperatures will occur in Dhamar at 28°C (12°C at night) and Ibb at 27°C (13°C at night). In Aden, temperatures will reach 37°C (30°C at night), while Socotra will see 33°C (25°C at night).
Marine Warnings Issued
In the marine bulletin, the center warned of rough seas and high waves along the coasts of Socotra and the Arabian Sea. Fishermen and sea-goers should exercise caution, particularly given the forecasted strong winds.
Safety Precautions Advised
The center emphasized the importance of avoiding riverbeds and valleys, as well as minimizing direct sun exposure in hot areas. It urged the public to follow safety guidelines and stay hydrated.
