Aden’s Sports Infrastructure and Youth Initiatives in Focus

In a significant meeting held on Sunday, Yemen’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Nayif Al-Bakri, engaged in discussions with Badr Ma’awon, the Secretary-General of the Local Council in Aden Governorate. The meeting, which also saw the presence of the Ministry’s Deputy, Dr. Azzam Khalifa, centered around various issues concerning the sports and youth sector in the governorate and the challenges faced by its clubs.

Praise for Local Efforts and Future Collaborations

Al-Bakri lauded the local authority’s efforts and its support for the myriad of sports activities conducted in the region, alongside its backing for the clubs and their diverse events. He underscored the importance of cooperation and coordination between the Ministry and the governorate to benefit sports and youth in the area. Al-Bakri emphasized the need to support infrastructure projects damaged by war, highlighting the collective aim to rehabilitate and rebuild them. This includes the sports city facilities in the Sheikh Othman directorate and aspirations to construct Aden’s first Olympic swimming pool.

Local Authority’s Commitment to Youth and Sports

On his part, Ma’awon appreciated the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ efforts in supporting the governorate’s clubs and standing by the youth and athletes. He pointed out the local authority’s eagerness for more collaboration and coordination to enhance the sports scene and youth welfare in Aden.
