Meeting Between Presidential Council Member and Joint Forces Commander

On Sunday, October 27, 2023, Tarik Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with Major General Fahd bin Hamad Al-Sulami, the commander of the Joint Forces, at the Joint Forces Command headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Discussion of Shared Interests

During their meeting, the two leaders discussed topics of mutual interest. They focused on the ongoing coordination and support from the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Their aim is to achieve the goals and aspirations needed to support the Yemeni government effectively.

Recognition of Saudi Support

Tarik Saleh expressed his deep appreciation for the continuous support provided by Saudi Arabia to the Yemeni people. He emphasized that this assistance significantly strengthens the resilience of Yemenis in facing current challenges.

Commitment to Legitimacy

In response, Major General Fahd bin Hamad Al-Sulami reaffirmed the Arab coalition’s commitment to supporting the legitimate government of Yemen. He noted that the coalition will continue to provide all necessary forms of support to the Yemeni people and their leadership until peace and stability are achieved.

Presentation of Honors

During the meeting, Major General Al-Sulami presented a shield from the Joint Forces to Tarik Saleh. In return, Saleh honored the Joint Forces commander with a shield representing the National Resistance.

Attendance of Military Leaders

The meeting also included the presence of key military figures. Among them were Brigadier General Farouk Al-Khulani, Chief of Staff of the Al-Hudaydah Axis and Commander of the First Tihama Brigade, and Brigadier General Yahya Wuhesh, Commander of the Ninth Giants Brigade.

This meeting underscores the ongoing collaboration between Yemeni leadership and the Arab coalition, aiming to foster stability and support for Yemen during these challenging times.
