Yemen Chairs Opening Session of Islamic Conference in Mecca

The Republic of Yemen led the opening session of the conference for ministers of endowments and Islamic affairs, held in Mecca. The event gathered ministers, muftis, and leaders from 60 countries, focusing on strengthening Islamic solidarity and cooperation.

Conference Objectives

Organized by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance, the conference runs from August 2 to 5. It aims to:

  • Enhance cooperation in Islamic affairs and endowments.
  • Counteract trends opposed to Islam.
  • Facilitate information exchange.
  • Support international relations.

Discussion on Extremism and Hate Speech

The first session, chaired by Yemen’s Minister of Endowments and Guidance, Dr. Mohammed Shabibah, discussed papers from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Kuwait. These papers addressed extremism, fanaticism, and hate speech.
