Sana’a, Yemen – Today, Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Taher Ali Al-Aqeeli conducted an inspection of the drone units within the Air Force and Air Defense. The visit aimed to assess combat readiness and operational preparations, alongside the introduction of new reconnaissance and combat systems into service.
During the visit, the minister reviewed various models of drones manufactured and equipped by Yemeni experts. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Defense’s strategy to enhance combat and reconnaissance capabilities, meeting the demands of the national battle. Field footage showcased the readiness of units stored on assembly racks, with military personnel performing salutes in preparation for inspection and execution.
In a brief address, Lieutenant General Al-Aqeeli emphasized the significance of these achievements. He stated, “We document these great accomplishments with our pens and seal them with our blood. We name this advanced weaponry after the historic symbols of Yemen’s mountains to revive our national identity.”
The minister inscribed the names of the famous mountains overlooking Sana’a, Ayban and Nqm, on the structures of the drones, marking their official entry into field service.
The Air Force leadership confirmed that these systems will significantly enhance the capabilities of the armed forces across various fronts. They will efficiently execute reconnaissance and combat missions, solidifying battlefield superiority and safeguarding the nation’s resources.
