Urgent Call for Aid to Support Hundreds of Displaced Families in Northwest Hajjah Launched by Executive Unit.

Urgent Call for Aid: Hundreds of Displaced Families Affected by Floods in Hajjah Province

In a significant humanitarian appeal issued on Saturday evening, the Executive Unit for IDP Camp Management in Hajjah Province has urgently called on all official and humanitarian entities to assist hundreds of displaced and affected families in the liberated directorates and areas in the northwest of the province.

Devastating Weather Conditions

The Executive Unit reported that the liberated directorates and areas in Hajjah Province experienced severe weather conditions on Friday afternoon, including heavy rains, strong winds, and devastating floods. These conditions led to the uprooting of tents belonging to displaced persons and the destruction of mud houses in the host communities.

Increasing Humanitarian Challenges

According to the statement, these damages have exacerbated the already difficult humanitarian situation for the displaced and host communities, especially following the disaster that struck at the beginning of August. The situation calls for immediate attention and assistance to mitigate the suffering of the affected populations.

A Call to Action

The statement urgently requested the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, and all organizations working in the humanitarian field to quickly provide relief to these stricken directorates. Additionally, the leadership of the Executive Unit at the republic level, the local authority leadership in the province, and the leadership of the Fifth Military Region were urged to promptly deliver urgent aid to the victims.

This appeal highlights the critical need for immediate and coordinated response efforts to support the hundreds of families impacted by the recent floods in Hajjah Province, underscoring the ongoing challenges faced by displaced populations and their host communities in the region.
