The Taiz Human Rights Center reported that two civilians died and three others, including a child, sustained injuries due to shelling by Houthi militias on residential homes in the village of Aad, located in the Al-Arous area of the Sabir Al-Mawadim district in southern Taiz Governorate.
The center’s field monitoring team documented the impact of three mortar shells fired by Houthi militias, which struck citizens’ homes in the village. This attack resulted in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to three others with varying degrees of severity.
The shelling caused significant material damage to eleven homes, with some experiencing partial destruction. This incident instilled fear and panic among the local civilian population.
The Taiz Human Rights Center urged both international and local humanitarian organizations to condemn this crime and the ongoing violations committed by Houthi militias against civilians in the governorate. The center called for pressure to lift the siege imposed on the city of Taiz, to halt attacks targeting residential neighborhoods and civilian sites, and to ensure accountability for those responsible, preventing them from evading justice.
