A regional training workshop on enforcing customs control over strategic goods concluded recently in Doha, Qatar. The workshop, organized by the Qatar Customs Authority in collaboration with the World Customs Organization, specifically targeted customs officials from Yemen.
The four-day workshop aimed to enhance the capabilities of customs personnel in Yemen. It welcomed 24 customs officials representing the leadership of the Yemen Customs Authority as well as various land, sea, and air customs points. By focusing on strategic goods oversight, the workshop sought to strengthen Yemen’s customs enforcement efforts.
During the closing ceremony, Abubakr Al-Sharahi, the Director of International Relations at the Yemen Customs Authority, expressed gratitude on behalf of the customs leadership. He thanked the World Customs Organization and the Qatar Customs Authority for their support and commitment to training customs staff in various operational areas.
This initiative reflects a concerted effort to build the capacity of customs officials in Yemen, ensuring they are well-equipped to manage and enforce regulations on strategic goods. Such training programs play a crucial role in enhancing trade security and compliance in the region.
