The Yemeni Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr. Adel Bahamid, officially inaugurated the Civil Registry Center at the embassy today. This new center aims to provide essential services to Yemeni expatriates in Malaysia and neighboring countries, including the issuance of the new national identity card equipped with smart chip technology.
Ambassador Bahamid praised the efforts of the center’s staff in achieving this significant milestone. He emphasized that the center will greatly facilitate the process for citizens abroad to obtain the new national identity card. The ambassador also highlighted the importance of the smart card, noting its role in modernizing the national security system. Furthermore, he pointed out that the card simplifies the process for citizens to acquire various official documents and complete their transactions efficiently.
Colonel Zaid Baawadi, the director of the Civil Registry Center at the embassy, provided an overview of the center’s preparations. He detailed the equipment and devices supplied by the Civil Registry and Civil Status Authority of the Ministry of Interior. Additionally, he explained the specifications of the smart card and outlined the steps and procedures involved in the issuance process, along with the necessary requirements for applicants.
This new initiative marks a significant step towards improving the services available to Yemeni citizens living abroad, ensuring they have access to vital documentation and support.
