Yemen's Supreme Judicial Council Announces Key Judicial Appointments and Decisions in Aden

Aden, Yemen – In a significant move to strengthen the judiciary in Aden, the Supreme Judicial Council, led by Judge Mohsen Yahya Talib, convened its regular meeting in the temporary capital. The council made several pivotal decisions, including the appointment of judges to various courts in Aden and addressing disciplinary actions against others.

Judicial Appointments in Aden

During the meeting, the council announced the appointment of several judges to key positions within Aden’s judicial system. Judge Ahmed Na’man Mohammed Al-Humais was appointed as a member of the Second Criminal Appellate Division in Aden. Judge Wadi’ Ibrahim Abdullah Khaled was named as a reserve member in the Aden Court of Appeal. Additionally, Judges Marwan Mohammed Salem Al-Saqqaf and Mohammed Qasim Suleiman Faraj were both appointed as judges in the Primary Commercial Court of Aden. These appointments are part of the council’s ongoing efforts to bolster the judiciary’s capacity to deliver justice effectively.

Disciplinary Actions and Retirement

The council also addressed issues of judicial conduct by lifting the immunity of several judges due to misconduct. In a move underscoring the council’s commitment to maintaining integrity within the judiciary, one judge was referred to retirement at his request, following an evaluation of his circumstances.

Review of Grievances

The meeting included a review of several grievances submitted to the council. After careful consideration, appropriate decisions were made, reflecting the council’s dedication to ensuring justice and addressing any concerns related to judicial processes.

Ensuring Judicial Efficiency

The Supreme Judicial Council also took the opportunity to discuss items listed on its agenda and approved the minutes of its previous meeting. These discussions are part of the council’s routine efforts to oversee the judiciary’s smooth functioning and to implement necessary improvements.

This series of decisions by the Supreme Judicial Council highlights the ongoing efforts to enhance the judicial system in Yemen, particularly in the temporary capital of Aden.
