Presidential Leadership Council Holds Key Meeting to Address National Issues

On Monday, the Presidential Leadership Council convened under the leadership of President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi. All council members attended, including Tariq Saleh, Abdul Rahman Al-Mahrimi, Othman Majali, and Mahmoud Al-Sabihi. Additionally, Sultan Al-Aradah, Dr. Abdullah Alimi, and Salem Al-Khanbashi participated via video conference.

Focus on Local Conditions and Economic Reforms

The meeting primarily addressed local conditions, emphasizing the progress made in economic, financial, and administrative reforms. The council discussed efforts to restore recovery, enhance services, and bolster security and stability in the temporary capital, Aden, and other liberated provinces.

Security Updates and Challenges

Council members received briefings on the current security situation in the liberated provinces. They evaluated necessary actions to tackle existing challenges effectively and responsibly. The council praised the efforts of security and military agencies in pursuing those involved in recent assassination crimes, reaffirming the state’s commitment to combating terrorism. They pledged to utilize all resources to bring perpetrators to justice.

Financial and Economic Performance Review

The council reviewed updates on financial and economic performance indicators, the implementation of the government program, and the general budget. They discussed plans to improve essential services, ongoing challenges, and proposed measures to complete comprehensive reforms.

Acknowledgment of Government Reforms

The council commended recent government reforms, particularly the establishment of the Supreme Committee for Tenders and Auctions and the creation of the General Authority for War Wounded Care. These initiatives aim to enhance integrity, transparency, governance, and the efficiency of state institutions, thereby restoring citizens’ trust and that of the donor community.

The council urged the government to build on recent progress, accelerate achievements, and implement approved plans to combat smuggling. In this context, the council expressed gratitude for the support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. They acknowledged the Saudi leadership’s assistance to the Yemeni people and their political leadership, particularly the recent royal directives to allocate additional budget support, which significantly contributes to financial stability and enables the government to meet its core obligations.

Continued Humanitarian Efforts

The council also praised the Kingdom’s extension of the “Masam” project for mine clearance, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian role in protecting civilians and alleviating the war’s impact. They noted the ongoing Saudi program for the development and reconstruction of Yemen, which implements strategic projects in electricity, energy, infrastructure, and essential services across various provinces.

Political and Regional Developments

The meeting addressed recent political, security, and regional developments and their implications for the national situation. The council listened to reports on the implementation of previous decisions and recommendations, assessing progress, obstacles, and proposed corrective actions.
