Minister Launches "Green Schools" Initiative in Aden to Promote Environmental Awareness

Today, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, the State Minister and Governor of Aden, inaugurated the “Green Schools” initiative at Aqba Bin Nafi School in the Sirah district. This initiative carries the slogan “Together to Enhance Environmental Awareness among Future Generations.”

Collaboration for a Greener Future

During the launch, Lamlas, accompanied by Hashed Al-Hamdani, the Acting Chairman and CEO of KAC Bank, planted tree seedlings in the schoolyard. This initiative, executed by the Social Development Bank in partnership with the Aden Education Office and the Cleaning and Improvement Fund, aims to instill environmental values in students.

Promoting Environmental Values

Minister Lamlas emphasized the importance of fostering environmental preservation among students by encouraging them to plant trees. He noted that this initiative contributes to improving the environment, increasing oxygen levels, reducing pollution, and strengthening future generations’ connection to nature.

Sustainable Practices for a Healthier Community

Al-Hamdani highlighted that KAC Bank’s “Green Schools” initiative promotes sustainable environmental practices. The program aims to expand green spaces, mitigate carbon dioxide emissions, and encourage the cultivation of eco-friendly plants that require less water and pesticides.

Community Support and Attendance

The launch event also saw the participation of Dr. Mahmoud Bin Geradi, the Director General of the Sirah district, showcasing strong community support for this vital initiative.

This initiative marks a significant step towards a healthier environment and a more sustainable future for the children of Aden.
