Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Today, in the temporary capital of Aden, Yemen’s Justice Minister, Judge Badr Al-Aradah, met with Mustafa Bulat, the Turkish Ambassador to Yemen. Their discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in judicial matters of mutual interest between Yemen and Turkey.

Support for Humanitarian Efforts

Minister Al-Aradah praised Turkey’s supportive stance towards the Yemeni government, highlighting its contributions to humanitarian and relief efforts. He expressed hope for the swift ratification of the judicial cooperation agreement concerning civil, commercial, and criminal matters. This agreement aligns with Decision No. 5 of 2014, which Yemen has already ratified.

Enhancing Judicial Training

The Minister emphasized the importance of activating the agreement with the Turkish Justice Academy, aimed at training and qualifying Yemeni judges and prosecutors. He pointed out the significance of exchanging expertise between the two countries and leveraging Turkey’s experience in providing judicial services. This collaboration would enhance the knowledge and skills of Yemeni judicial personnel.

Turkish Commitment to Support Yemen

In response, Ambassador Bulat expressed Turkey’s readiness to assist Yemen in overcoming its current challenges and to support the judicial authority. This cooperation underscores the commitment of both nations to strengthen their judicial systems and improve the rule of law in Yemen.

This meeting marks a significant step towards fostering a robust partnership between Yemen and Turkey in the judicial sector, aiming for a more effective and efficient legal framework in Yemen.
