In an urgent response to recent security threats, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee, Major General Mohsen Al-Dhari, convened an extraordinary meeting with the Security Committee of Hadhramaut today in the city of Sayoun. The meeting aimed to address the rising concerns over security incidents in the region.
The meeting gathered key officials, including Hadhramaut Governor and Chairman of the Provincial Security Committee, Mabkhout bin Madi. Other notable attendees included the Deputy Governor for the Valley and Desert Affairs, Amer Al-Amri, Commander of the Second Military Region, Major General Talib Barjash, and Commander of the First Military Region, Major General Saleh Taimas. Additionally, the Director General of Security and Police for the Valley and Desert, Brigadier General Abdullah bin Habish, and various military and security leaders participated in the discussions.
The committee focused on the implications of a recent treacherous attack that resulted in the death of an officer and a non-commissioned officer from the Coalition Forces in Sayoun, as well as injuries to another officer. The meeting reviewed the ongoing investigation led by the established committee and the efforts of military units and security forces to apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous act.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Dhari strongly condemned the cowardly attack targeting coalition officers. He emphasized the urgent need to enhance security efforts to capture the assailants and bring them to justice. Al-Dhari stated that this despicable act reflects the barbarism of its perpetrators and does not represent the values or ethics of the Yemeni people, especially those serving in the armed forces. He acknowledged the significant role of the coalition, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and expressed gratitude for their sacrifices alongside the Yemeni people.
Both Minister Al-Dhari and Governor bin Madi expressed their appreciation for the steadfast support from Saudi Arabia and the heroic contributions of coalition forces in supporting the legitimate government.
