The meteorological department forecasts partly cloudy to overcast weather with thunderstorms in coastal and mountainous regions.

Weather Forecast: Continued Partial Cloudiness and Rain Expected

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast Center has announced that weather conditions will remain partially cloudy along coastal areas and their vicinity. Today, Thursday, expect warm to moderately hot temperatures, with scattered rain showers, some of which may be accompanied by thunderstorms. Overall, winds will remain moderate.

Mountainous Regions: Cloudy with Thunderstorms

In its daily weather report, which the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received, the center predicts that mountainous regions will experience partially to fully cloudy skies. Temperatures will be moderate, with a chance of thunderstorms, some of which may be heavy and accompanied by hail. This weather pattern will affect areas from northern Saada to southern Taiz and Lahij, extending eastward to parts of Al-Bayda and Abyan. Meanwhile, desert and plateau areas will see clear to partially cloudy skies with moderate temperatures and moderate winds.

Temperature Forecast for Coastal and Mountainous Areas

According to the weather bulletin, the expected maximum and minimum temperatures for today, Thursday, are as follows:

  • Coastal Areas:

    • Aden: 32°C / 27°C
    • Mukalla: 31°C / 26°C
    • Hodeidah: 32°C / 28°C
    • Socotra: 34°C / 25°C
    • Mokha: 31°C / 26°C
    • Al-Ghaydah: 32°C / 26°C
    • Zinjibar: 32°C / 25°C
    • Lahij: 35°C / 25°C
  • Desert and Plateau Areas:

    • Sayun: 37°C / 22°C
    • Marib: 35°C / 25°C
    • Ataq: 34°C / 24°C
    • Bayhan: 32°C / 24°C
  • Mountainous Areas:

    • Sana’a: 28°C / 15°C
    • Taiz: 31°C / 17°C
    • Dhamar: 26°C / 10°C
    • Al-Dhale: 30°C / 17°C
    • Ibb: 26°C / 14°C
    • Al-Bayda: 30°C / 12°C

Safety Warnings for Rain-Prone Areas

The center has reiterated its warning to citizens in areas expecting rainfall. Residents should avoid riverbeds and valleys during potential flooding and thunderstorms. Additionally, drivers in these regions should be cautious of reduced visibility due to heavy rain and fog.

Marine Conditions: Calm Seas Expected

In its daily marine bulletin, the Weather Forecast Center predicts that sea conditions along the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and the western coasts will remain calm. Similarly, the waters in the Arabian Sea will experience light waves, while the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea will see light to moderate waves.
