The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s weather forecasting center has issued a report today, indicating that coastal areas will experience mild to partly cloudy weather. Light to moderate winds will prevail along the southern coasts, while the southwestern coasts may see stronger winds reaching speeds of up to 28 knots, raising concerns about dust and sand.
The daily weather bulletin, which was shared with the Yemen News Agency (Saba), predicts that mountainous regions will remain clear but experience very cold temperatures during the night and early morning. Specifically, the western highlands will face severe cold, while other highlands and plateaus in the provinces of Al-Dhale, Lahij, Abyan, Shabwa, and Hadramaut will feel cold to relatively cold temperatures. There is also a possibility of fog formation in these areas. In the desert and internal plateaus, the weather will be clear, with moderate daytime temperatures and very cold nights, accompanied by moderate winds that may stir up dust and sand.
The meteorological center has provided temperature forecasts for several provinces today, Friday, as follows:
The weather center urges citizens, especially the elderly and children in mountainous areas, to take precautions against the cold weather during the night and early morning. It is essential for them to prepare adequately to protect themselves from the severe cold. Farmers, livestock breeders, and beekeepers in these regions should also be mindful of the impacts of low temperatures on their activities.
In its daily marine bulletin, the weather forecasting center predicts that the sea conditions along the coasts of Hadramaut, Shabwa, Aden, and Abyan will be calm. In contrast, the coasts of Al-Mahrah, Bab al-Mandab, and the Socotra Archipelago will experience moderate waves. The western coasts may face moderate to rough sea conditions. In the regional waters of the Gulf of Aden, conditions will remain calm, while the Arabian Sea will see moderate waves. The Red Sea will experience moderate to rough conditions as well. Fishermen and sea-goers around the Socotra Archipelago, Gulf of Aden, and the Red Sea should exercise caution due to rising waves and strong winds.
