Traffic Accidents Claim Lives in Yemen’s Liberated Provinces
On Sunday, the Yemeni Ministry of Interior reported 10 fatalities and injuries resulting from traffic accidents in the liberated provinces over the past 24 hours.
According to the Security Media Center, one individual died, while nine others sustained injuries, including three severe cases, in a series of traffic incidents recorded yesterday.
Details of the Accidents
The traffic police revealed that the total number of accidents reached nine, categorized as follows:
- Six pedestrian accidents
- Three vehicle collisions
The distribution of these accidents across provinces is as follows:
- Mareb: Four pedestrian accidents and one vehicle collision
- Lahij: One pedestrian accident and one vehicle collision
- Shabwa: One vehicle collision
Causes of the Accidents
The traffic police attributed the accidents to several factors:
- Excessive speed
- Negligence and distractions unrelated to the road
- Pedestrians failing to adhere to crossing rules
- Children playing on the roads
The traffic police urged both drivers and pedestrians to follow traffic safety guidelines to reduce the increasing number of accidents and protect lives.
