Governor of Hadhramaut Commends Anti-Drug Efforts

MUKALLA, Hadhramaut – Governor Salem Al-Khanbashi, who also serves as the head of the security committee, praised the achievements of the Anti-Drug Administration. He highlighted their significant successes in protecting the community and enhancing security and stability. Al-Khanbashi reaffirmed the local authority’s commitment to supporting the administration and strengthening its human and technical capabilities.

Meeting with the Director General of the Anti-Drug Administration

During a meeting today in Mukalla with Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Ahmadi, the Director General of the Anti-Drug Administration at the Ministry of Interior, Al-Khanbashi discussed the level of coordination among relevant agencies. They reviewed plans to improve field operations and enhance the efficiency of security personnel. Additionally, they emphasized the need to intensify awareness campaigns to combat drug abuse and mitigate its negative effects on society, particularly among youth.

Significant Field Achievements

The governor acknowledged the field successes of the Anti-Drug Administration along the Hadhramaut coast. Notably, the administration seized and incinerated large quantities of narcotics under the supervision of the specialized judicial authority. This included over one ton and 50 kilograms of hashish, 35 kilograms of methamphetamine, 30 kilograms of heroin, along with 11,500 Captagon pills and 9,000 assorted narcotic tablets.

Importance of Collaborative Efforts

Al-Khanbashi emphasized that these achievements reflect the readiness and vigilance of security forces in addressing this grave issue. He stressed the importance of collaboration among security agencies, local authorities, and the community in the fight against drugs, given the direct threat they pose to social security, public health, and the future of generations.
