Minister of Defense Discusses Military Cooperation with Chinese Officials
Strengthening Bilateral Ties
Today, Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Taher Al-Aqili met with the Chargé d’Affaires of the People’s Republic of China in Yemen, Zhao Cheng, and the military attaché, Colonel Liu Zhao. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in military and technical fields, as well as capacity building.
Current Military and Security Situation
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the latest developments in military and security conditions. They also explored the trajectory of bilateral relations between Yemen and China, two nations committed to mutual support.
Support for Yemen’s Sovereignty
Minister Al-Aqili praised China’s steadfast support for Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He emphasized the Yemeni government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with China to serve their shared interests.
Chinese Support for Yemen
In response, Zhao Cheng congratulated Lieutenant General Al-Aqili on his recent appointment as Minister of Defense, expressing confidence in his leadership. He reiterated China’s support for Yemen’s unity and sovereignty, affirming the country’s commitment to standing alongside Yemen’s political leadership, represented by the Presidential Leadership Council. Zhao also highlighted China’s dedication to promoting peace and stability in Yemen.
