On Sunday, the Chief of Staff and Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Saghir bin Aziz, visited the Fifth Military Region in Hajjah Governorate. The visit aimed to assess the progress of combat operations and the readiness of military units in the area.
During his visit, Lieutenant General bin Aziz chaired a meeting with the leadership of the region and commanders of military units. He began the meeting by conveying greetings and congratulations from the political and military leadership, represented by President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, along with council members and the Minister of Defense. This acknowledgment celebrated the 35th National Day of the Reunification of Yemen.
The Chief of Staff listened to comprehensive reports from the commander of the Fifth Military Region and the leaders of various brigades. These reports detailed the current field conditions and defensive military operations within the region. Additionally, he reviewed operational and training plans designed to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of the region’s personnel.
Lieutenant General bin Aziz praised the significant sacrifices made by the heroes of the Fifth Military Region in their quest for security and stability in Yemen. He emphasized that the Yemeni Armed Forces remain committed to meeting the expectations of the political leadership and the Yemeni people in achieving lasting security.
The Chief of Staff expressed pride in the vigilance of the fighters in the region, highlighting their crucial role in defending the nation and protecting its achievements. He urged them to maintain their determination and resilience in the ongoing battle for liberation and the defense of the republic. He reiterated that the fight continues until the defeat of the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist organization.
In response, Major General Yahya Salah, the commander of the Fifth Military Region, assured the Chief of Staff of the region’s forces’ readiness and their constant preparedness to execute directives from the political and military leadership. He emphasized the importance of this visit in boosting morale and enhancing the combat readiness of the troops.
Lieutenant General bin Aziz was accompanied during the visit by Brigadier General Dr. Yahya Al-Aizari, Director of the War Operations Department.
