President Alimi Updates on Economic and Service Conditions

On Thursday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, the head of the Presidential Leadership Council, held a phone call with Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak. The conversation focused on the latest developments in the economic and service sectors, particularly regarding fluctuations in currency prices and basic commodities. They also discussed the government’s efforts to expedite the implementation of the economic rescue plan.

Strengthening the National Currency

During the call, President Alimi received a briefing from Prime Minister bin Mubarak on the measures taken to bolster the national currency. The Prime Minister outlined strategies to deter currency speculators and enhance monitoring of service prices and essential goods. Additionally, they reviewed protective measures for local products and industries.

Improving Electricity Supply

The President also listened to an overview of initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency of power generation stations. The discussion highlighted efforts to reduce frequent electricity outages and ensure a steady supply of fuel from the Hadramout and Marib governorates to operate government power stations.

Addressing Humanitarian Challenges

President Alimi emphasized the approved policies designed to alleviate the humanitarian suffering exacerbated by attacks from Iranian-backed Houthi militias on oil facilities and international shipping routes. He underscored the importance of intensifying efforts to implement the decisions and recommendations of the Presidential Leadership Council, particularly those related to enhancing the state’s access to resources across all governorates.

Appreciation for Saudi Support

The President expressed his profound gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their generous response to the needs of the Yemeni people. He acknowledged their ongoing support for the state budget, which is crucial for fulfilling essential commitments, including the payment of salaries and the provision of goods and basic services for millions of Yemenis nationwide.

In summary, President Alimi’s discussions with Prime Minister bin Mubarak reflect a proactive approach to tackling economic challenges and improving public services in Yemen. The collaboration with Saudi Arabia further emphasizes international support for Yemen during this critical period.
