President Alimi Meets Joint Forces Commander to Strengthen Military Cooperation

On Monday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, the head of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, welcomed Major General Fahd bin Hamad Al-Sulami, the commander of the Joint Forces for the Saudi-led Coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen.

Enhancing Military Coordination

During their meeting, both leaders discussed mechanisms for joint coordination and programs aimed at strengthening military cooperation. They emphasized the importance of enhancing the capabilities of the armed forces to deter threats to Yemen’s security and stability. Additionally, they focused on bolstering efforts to combat terrorism, smuggling, and organized crime.

Acknowledging Saudi Support

President Alimi expressed deep appreciation for the supportive stance of Saudi Arabia, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He recognized their commitment to the Yemeni people and their aspirations to end the Houthi militia’s insurgency, restore state institutions, and achieve security and stability.

Celebrating Recent Military Successes

The President praised the significant achievements of the Joint Forces in the recent military operations, particularly in securing the temporary capital of Aden and other liberated provinces. He highlighted the successful handover of military camps and the tangible progress made in ensuring safety in these areas.

Recognizing Humanitarian Efforts

President Alimi also acknowledged the humanitarian interventions from Saudi Arabia that accompanied the military operations. He noted the announced developmental projects and financial support aimed at paying employee salaries, which serve as a foundation for stability and development in Yemen.

Emphasizing State Control Over Arms

The President stressed the importance of ensuring that the state maintains a monopoly on weapons throughout the operational theater. He called for preventing the emergence of any military or security entities outside the state’s framework.

Continued Support from Saudi Arabia

In response, Major General Fahd Al-Sulami reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s ongoing support for the Yemeni people and their political leadership. He reiterated the commitment to achieving security, stability, peace, and development in Yemen.
