President Alimi Holds Meeting on Economic and Service Challenges in Aden

On Thursday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, convened a crucial meeting with Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, Central Bank Governor Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Mabqi, and several key ministers. The attendees included Finance Minister Salem bin Breik, Water and Environment Minister Engineer Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi, Electricity and Energy Minister Engineer Mani bin Yamin, Oil and Minerals Minister Dr. Said Al-Shamasi, and State Minister and Governor of Aden Ahmed Lamlas.

Addressing Economic and Service Issues

The meeting focused on the pressing economic, service, and living conditions in Aden. Participants discussed the severe challenges faced by citizens due to power outages. They reviewed measures taken to meet basic needs, secure fuel supplies, and stabilize electricity services to prevent future disruptions.

President Alimi listened to reports from the Prime Minister and relevant officials about the overall situation in Aden. They outlined coordinated efforts with local authorities to tackle service challenges and respond urgently to citizens’ priorities, particularly in electricity, water, and healthcare. The discussion also highlighted the humanitarian crisis exacerbated by Houthi militia attacks on oil facilities and international shipping routes.

Local Developments and Fuel Supply Efforts

During the meeting, President Alimi emphasized the local developments and the Council’s ongoing efforts. He acknowledged the contributions of Council member and Marib Governor Sultan Al-Arada in increasing fuel supplies to power plants in Aden. Additionally, he noted the actions taken by Shabwa Governor Awad bin Al-Wazir and local authorities to enhance security and stability, ensuring the delivery of services across the republic.

Urgent Measures for Electricity Restoration

President Alimi directed officials to expedite the provision of fuel necessary to restore the electricity system in Aden. He stressed the importance of alleviating the suffering caused by frequent power outages at all levels.

The President also recognized the efforts of the committee tasked with normalizing conditions in Hadhramaut and managing its impact on state resources and service efficiency.

Commitment to Addressing Public Grievances

President Alimi expressed understanding and support for the peaceful protests that occurred in Aden recently. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to alleviating hardships and fulfilling its obligations, especially with Ramadan approaching.

He underscored the necessity of implementing Council decisions to ensure all institutions resume their operations and fulfill their constitutional responsibilities effectively.

The meeting concluded with the presence of Dr. Yahya Al-Shaibi, Director of the Presidential Office, highlighting the administration’s commitment to addressing the urgent needs of the people in Aden and beyond.

This gathering reflects the leadership’s proactive approach to managing economic and service-related challenges in Yemen, aiming for a more stable and prosperous future for its citizens.
