The Chairman of the Leadership Council discusses bilateral relations and shared challenges with the Syrian President in Cairo.

President Rashad Alimi Meets Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara

On Tuesday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the extraordinary Arab Summit held in Cairo, Egypt.

Celebrating Ramadan Together

During their meeting, both leaders exchanged warm greetings and congratulations in honor of the holy month of Ramadan. They expressed their hopes that this significant religious occasion would bring blessings and prosperity to both nations and all Arab and Islamic countries.

Discussing Bilateral Relations

The conversation also covered recent developments in both countries, focusing on their bilateral relations. President Alimi emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation across various levels. He highlighted the need for coordinated positions on regional issues of mutual interest.

Acknowledging Syria’s Historical Transformations

President Alimi praised the historical transformations occurring in Syria and acknowledged the determination of its people to build a brighter future. He expressed his eagerness to work together to elevate the distinguished bilateral relations between Yemen and Syria. This includes activating diplomatic representation between the two nations.

Yemen’s Support for Syrian Unity

President Alimi reaffirmed Yemen’s commitment to supporting Syria’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and the aspirations of its people for peace, security, and stability.

Syrian President’s Appreciation

In response, President Ahmad Al-Shara commended the historical ties between Yemen and Syria. He stressed the importance of close coordination between the two countries in addressing shared challenges.

President Al-Shara also expressed gratitude for Yemen’s support, acknowledging the solidarity of its leadership, government, and people with the Syrian cause. He wished for Yemen to achieve its aspirations for restoring its state institutions, security, and stability.

Attendees of the Meeting

The meeting included several key figures, such as Dr. Sha’if Al-Zandani, Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Khaled Bahah, Yemen’s Ambassador to Cairo, and Major General Saleh Al-Maqalih, Director of the Presidential Leadership Council Office. From the Syrian side, the meeting featured As’ad Al-Shibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Hossam Al-Din Ala, Syria’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League.

This meeting underscores the commitment of both nations to strengthen their ties and collaborate on issues of mutual concern, particularly in the context of regional stability and cooperation.
