Central Bank Governor Discusses Economic Cooperation with Dutch Ambassador

On Wednesday, Ahmed Ghaleb, the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, met with Dutch Ambassador Janneke Spier and her accompanying delegation at the bank’s headquarters in Aden. The meeting focused on the existing cooperative relations between Yemen and the Netherlands, emphasizing support for the Central Bank’s efforts to enhance its role in achieving economic stability.

Economic Developments and Challenges

During the meeting, the Governor presented an overview of Yemen’s financial and economic developments. He highlighted the country’s future prospects amid unfavorable regional developments. These challenges have negatively impacted various economic indicators, particularly the rising prices of energy and goods, as well as increased transportation and insurance costs. Such factors exacerbate the difficulties faced by resource-limited countries, with Yemen being at the forefront.

Call for International Support

In this context, the Governor stressed the importance of coordinated international efforts to assist nations grappling with complex economic and humanitarian situations. He underscored that such support could help mitigate the impacts of crises and foster a degree of economic and living stability.
