Minister of Interior Leads Meeting on Civil Affairs Services in Aden
Today, Minister of Interior Major General Ibrahim Haidan chaired a meeting in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen. The meeting included leaders from the Civil Status and Civil Registry Authority. The primary focus was to assess the current workflow and performance levels, as well as to discuss plans for expanding the authority’s branches in liberated provinces. This initiative aims to enhance civil affairs services for citizens.
Enhancing Institutional Performance
The Minister praised the efforts of the authority’s leadership and all personnel in various centers and branches. He emphasized the importance of adhering to regulations and laws governing operations. Furthermore, he highlighted the need for a significant improvement in the services provided to citizens, aligning them with current demands and promoting digital transformation.
Streamlining Personal ID Issuance
The Minister stressed the necessity of removing obstacles for citizens seeking smart personal identification cards. He called for expedited processing of applications and insisted on putting an end to brokerage and extortion practices. Additionally, he urged the implementation of strict legal measures against those involved, ensuring that services are delivered transparently and fairly.
Addressing Forgery Crimes
The Minister directed the authority’s leadership to monitor forgery crimes closely. He called for the completion of investigation procedures and the referral of case files to the public prosecution for legal action against offenders. This step aims to safeguard official documents and protect national identity.
Challenges and Development Proposals
In a related discussion, Major General Abdul Majid Al-Amari, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Civil Services, and Major General Dr. Mohammed Baharoun, the head of the Civil Status and Civil Registry Authority, reviewed the authority’s operational status. They outlined the challenges they face and presented several developmental proposals aimed at improving performance and expanding service offerings.
