Security sources disclosed to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that authorities have successfully apprehended several suspects involved in the kidnapping and subsequent assassination of Wessam Abdullah Mohammed Qaid, the acting executive director of the Social Fund for Development in Aden. This significant development highlights the ongoing commitment of security forces to track down all individuals responsible for this heinous act and bring them to justice.
Following the tragic incident in early May, investigative teams commenced their work within hours. The operation focused on collecting vital evidence, analyzing surveillance footage, and tracking the movements of the suspects. Authorities collaborated with various security and intelligence units to ensure a comprehensive and effective investigation process.
Investigations revealed that the assailants employed rented vehicles and utilized residential apartments in Aden to execute the crime and subsequently evade capture. Technical teams identified multiple locations and individuals linked to the case through meticulous analysis of video recordings, communication data, and field movements.
The investigations culminated in the identification of the primary perpetrators involved in the assassination. Authorities are actively pursuing additional suspects, for whom arrest warrants have already been issued. Several detainees have been referred to the competent prosecutor’s office to facilitate the necessary legal proceedings.
This operation presents a significant test for the capabilities of security forces in Aden, the temporary capital. These agencies have demonstrated commendable effectiveness in dismantling criminal networks and maintaining public safety. Previously, security forces successfully apprehended the main suspects in the assassination of businessman Abdul Rahman Al-Shaer, subsequently referring them to court in an expedited manner.
