Salman Relief Center launches emergency food and shelter aid distribution for 687 displaced families in Marib.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has initiated the distribution of emergency food and shelter aid to 687 displaced families affected by fires and climate-related storms in Marib Governorate today.
Deputy Director of the Executive Unit for the Management of Displacement Camps, Dr. Khaled Al-Shajani, along with the Shelter Cluster and Non-Food Items Coordinator for the governorate, Amin Al-Maqbool, received a briefing from Dr. Lotf Al-Ghabari, the representative of KSrelief’s Marib office, and Mohsen Al-Hadrami, the Director of the Good Coalition for Humanitarian Relief, the implementing partner of the project. They were informed about the components and quality of the provided aid, which includes 270 emergency shelter kits, 100 tents, and 618 emergency food baskets.
Dr. Al-Shajani praised the humanitarian role of KSrelief in various fields, noting that this assistance would alleviate the suffering of the beneficiary families whose tents were destroyed by fires in displacement camps or were severely damaged due to climate change and strong wind storms, leaving them without shelter.
He also highlighted the increasing gap between the growing humanitarian needs and the significant decrease in humanitarian interventions by partners, which has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in various fields and increased the burden on local authorities to respond to urgent needs beyond their capacities and resources.
