Dozens of residents from Ibb Governorate gathered for a protest to denounce the Houthi militia’s failure to maintain security and the alarming rise in murder cases within the region.
On Wednesday, a significant number of citizens from the Jibla district rallied in front of the local authority building in the governorate center. They expressed their frustration over the militia’s inability to apprehend a suspect involved in the murder of a local resident.
Protesters displayed banners condemning the chaotic security situation in Ibb. They specifically criticized the Houthi militia for their negligence in capturing the suspect responsible for the death of “Mohammed Naaman Iskander.” Iskander fell victim to an armed ambush on January 5 of this year.
Ibb Governorate has witnessed a severe deterioration in security, with a dramatic increase in murder incidents. Since the beginning of January, more than 20 individuals have been killed or injured in the region. This surge in violence has heightened public concern and calls for urgent action.
The protest highlights the growing discontent among Ibb residents regarding the Houthi militia’s inability to ensure safety and security. As the situation continues to escalate, citizens demand accountability and effective measures to restore peace in their community.
