Dr. Riyad Yassin, Yemen’s non-resident ambassador to Portugal, met with Portuguese Foreign Minister Dr. Paulo Rangel today to discuss the bilateral relations between Yemen and Portugal. This meeting took place during the annual gathering of ambassadors in Lisbon, marking the start of the new year.
During the meeting, Ambassador Yassin provided an overview of the current situation in Yemen. He highlighted the significant challenges facing the Yemeni government and emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation between the two nations. Yassin pointed out the importance of sharing expertise and developing partnerships among various institutions in both countries.
The ambassador reaffirmed the Yemeni government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with Portugal on issues of mutual interest. He expressed hope that these efforts would lead to more robust relations between the two countries.
In response, Foreign Minister Rangel expressed Portugal’s keen interest in developing its bilateral relations with Yemen. He confirmed his readiness to support the enhancement of partnerships across various sectors that are important to both nations.
