In a significant initiative aimed at bolstering military readiness, Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Taher Al-Aqeeli convened a comprehensive meeting today in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen. This important gathering included members from the War Operations and Joint Operations Committees, with a focus on assessing recent field developments and the overall preparedness of various military formations.

Review of Recent Field Visits

During the meeting, Minister Al-Aqeeli shared insights derived from his recent visits to multiple military regions. He commended the impressive discipline, readiness, and high morale exhibited by the troops. The Minister emphasized the critical importance of maintaining and even enhancing this level of preparedness to effectively address the ongoing challenges faced by the military.

Coordination Among Military Components

Minister Al-Aqeeli also praised the existing coordination and integration among different military units. He highlighted the alignment of these units within a unified operations room, under the leadership of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, who also serves as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. The Minister stressed the necessity of unifying concepts across various military formations to enhance operational performance and achieve strategic objectives.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, the Minister underscored the primary goal of liberating the capital, Sana’a, and putting an end to the Houthi coup. He pointed out the suffering endured by citizens living under Houthi control, asserting that true security and stability in Yemen can only be realized by dismantling this Iranian-backed project.
