Meteorologists predict continued hot weather in coastal and desert areas, with rain expected in mountainous regions.

Weather Forecast for Coastal and Mountain Regions

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center predicts varied weather conditions across Yemen this Sunday. Coastal areas will experience partly cloudy skies, with warm and humid conditions during the day, transitioning to a milder evening. Scattered rain showers, some potentially accompanied by thunderstorms, are likely along the southern and western coasts. Winds will remain active throughout the day.

Mountainous Areas and Desert Conditions

According to the daily weather report, which the Yemen News Agency (Saba) received, the mountainous regions will also see partly cloudy skies. Daytime temperatures will be hot and dry, with a chance of varying rainfall intensity, particularly in the western highlands. Meanwhile, desert and plateau areas will experience dry and somewhat dusty conditions, with hot temperatures during the day and mild evenings. Winds in these regions will range from light to moderate.

Temperature Predictions

The forecast indicates the following maximum and minimum temperatures for coastal and nearby areas:

  • Aden: 37°C / 28°C
  • Mukalla: 35°C / 27°C
  • Hodeidah: 38°C / 30°C
  • Socotra: 36°C / 24°C
  • Al-Mokha: 36°C / 27°C
  • Al-Ghaydah: 32°C / 26°C
  • Zinjibar: 37°C / 27°C
  • Lahij: 35°C / 27°C

For desert and plateau regions, temperatures are expected to be:

  • Seiyun: 40°C / 25°C
  • Marib: 40°C / 25°C
  • Ataq: 38°C / 25°C
  • Bayhan: 38°C / 24°C

In the mountainous areas, temperatures will be:

  • Sana’a: 30°C / 15°C
  • Taiz: 34°C / 19°C
  • Dhamar: 28°C / 13°C
  • Al-Dhale’e: 30°C / 18°C
  • Ibb: 30°C / 17°C
  • Al-Bayda: 30°C / 13°C

Safety Warnings

The center urges citizens and drivers in areas expecting rainfall to avoid valleys and low-lying areas due to the risk of thunderstorms. Additionally, residents in desert and coastal regions should take precautions against the hot weather and avoid direct sun exposure.

Marine Conditions

In its daily marine report, the Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center anticipates calm seas along the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, and the western shores. However, the Bab al-Mandab and Socotra Archipelago will see moderate wave conditions. The sea state in Yemen’s territorial waters, including the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, and the Red Sea, is expected to be moderate as well.
