Meteorologists forecast thunderstorms and mild weather in coastal areas, with cold conditions in mountainous regions.

Weather Forecast for Coastal and Mountain Regions

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center predicts moderate temperatures along coastal areas and nearby regions today, Wednesday. The weather will remain clear to partly cloudy, with a chance of thunderstorms in parts of the western coastal plains. Winds will range from moderate to active.

Mountainous Areas: Cool and Dry Conditions

According to the daily weather bulletin, which the Yemen News Agency (Saba) received, the mountainous regions will experience dry and cold weather, especially during the night and early morning. Fog may form in some areas, and varying intensities of thunderstorms are expected in parts of the western and northwestern slopes. In desert and plateau regions, the weather will generally be dry and partly cloudy, with moderate daytime temperatures and relatively cool nights.

Temperature Predictions

The center forecasts the following maximum and minimum temperatures for today, Wednesday, in coastal and nearby areas:

  • Aden: 31°C / 25°C
  • Mukalla: 30°C / 23°C
  • Hodeidah: 29°C / 26°C
  • Socotra: 32°C / 22°C
  • Mokha: 31°C / 25°C
  • Al-Ghaydah: 33°C / 25°C
  • Zinjibar: 31°C / 25°C
  • Lahij: 31°C / 24°C

In desert and plateau regions, temperatures are expected to be:

  • Sayun: 31°C / 19°C
  • Marib: 29°C / 20°C
  • Ataq: 28°C / 18°C
  • Bayhan: 28°C / 18°C

In mountainous areas, temperatures will be:

  • Sana’a: 25°C / 09°C
  • Taiz: 29°C / 17°C
  • Dhamar: 24°C / 08°C
  • Al-Dhale: 26°C / 15°C
  • Ibb: 26°C / 14°C
  • Al-Bayda: 26°C / 10°C

Safety Warnings for Thunderstorms and Fog

The center warns citizens in areas expecting thunderstorms to take necessary precautions to avoid hazards. Residents should avoid riverbeds and be cautious of fog in mountainous regions and parts of the southern coast, as it may reduce visibility. Additionally, individuals with respiratory conditions should be aware of widespread dust.

Marine Conditions and Warnings for Fishermen

In its daily marine bulletin, the Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center anticipates calm seas along the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, and the Socotra Archipelago. The Bab al-Mandab and western coasts will experience moderate waves. The regional waters in the Arabian Sea will have light waves, while the Gulf of Aden will range from light to moderate. The Red Sea will see moderate waves. The center advises fishermen and sea-goers in Bab al-Mandab, Meyun Island, southern western coasts, and regional waters in the Red Sea to be cautious of strong winds.
