Meteorologists forecast mild weather in coastal areas, with cold temperatures and thunderstorms in mountainous regions.

Weather Forecast for Coastal and Mountainous Regions

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center has predicted that the weather will remain mild along coastal areas and nearby regions. On Saturday, the forecast indicates partly cloudy skies with a chance of fog developing along parts of the southern coast. Winds will generally be moderate, but they may become strong in the Bab al-Mandab area and adjacent regions, as well as along the southern western coast.

Conditions in Mountainous Areas

According to the daily weather report, which the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received, the mountainous regions will experience dry and cold weather, particularly during the night and early morning. There is a possibility of fog formation in some areas, along with thunderstorms expected in parts of the western and northwestern highlands. Meanwhile, the desert and plateau regions will remain dry and generally clear, with moderate daytime temperatures and relatively cool nights.

Temperature Forecast

The forecast for maximum and minimum temperatures on Saturday in coastal and nearby areas is as follows:

  • Aden: 32°C / 24°C
  • Mukalla: 31°C / 26°C
  • Hodeidah: 31°C / 27°C
  • Socotra: 32°C / 22°C
  • Mokha: 32°C / 26°C
  • Al-Ghaydah: 31°C / 23°C
  • Zinjibar: 32°C / 24°C
  • Lahij: 32°C / 23°C

In the desert and plateau regions, temperatures will be:

  • Sayun: 35°C / 18°C
  • Marib: 32°C / 20°C
  • Ataq: 32°C / 20°C
  • Bayhan: 32°C / 19°C

For the mountainous areas, the temperatures are expected to be:

  • Sana’a: 26°C / 10°C
  • Taiz: 29°C / 16°C
  • Dhamar: 25°C / 08°C
  • Al-Dhale: 28°C / 15°C
  • Ibb: 27°C / 16°C
  • Al-Bayda: 26°C / 09°C

Safety Warnings for Citizens

The center has reiterated its warning to citizens in areas expecting thunderstorms. Residents should take necessary precautions to avoid the dangers associated with these storms and refrain from staying in flood-prone areas. Additionally, the center urges those in mountainous regions and parts of the southern coast to exercise caution due to fog, which can significantly reduce visibility.

Marine Conditions Update

In its daily marine report, the Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center predicts that sea conditions along the coasts of Al-Mahrah, Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, and the Socotra Archipelago will remain calm. The Bab al-Mandab area will experience moderate waves, while the western coasts may see occasional disturbances. The regional waters in the Arabian Sea will remain calm, while the Gulf of Aden will have light to moderate waves. The Red Sea will experience moderate conditions with occasional disturbances.

The center has once again warned fishermen and sea-goers in Bab al-Mandab, Meyun Island, southern Red Sea, and regional waters in the Red Sea about potential disturbances and strong winds.
