Yemen's President Praises Armed Forces in the Wake of Abyan Terror Attack

In a significant development, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the head of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, made a phone call to Abyan Governor Major General Abu Bakr Hussein Salem, the commander of the Abyan Axis, on Friday. The call aimed to discuss the recent conditions in the province and gather details about a cowardly terrorist attack targeting a military site of the Third Brigade Support and Reinforcement in the Mudiyah directorate, resulting in several martyrs and wounded heroes.

Initial Reports and Presidential Directives

During the conversation, Governor Abu Bakr Hussein Salem provided President Al-Alimi with a preliminary report on the treacherous attack perpetrated by criminal and terrorist hands. President Al-Alimi directed the provision of necessary support to the families of the martyrs and medical care for the wounded, underscoring the government’s commitment to the well-being of those affected by terrorism.

A Salute to Heroism

President Al-Alimi saluted the heroic epics written by the heroes of the armed forces in their confrontation with terrorist organizations, including the Houthi militias aligned with them. He praised their steadfast resistance to attempts at destabilizing security and stability and exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

Unwavering Resolve Against Terrorism

The President affirmed that such terrorist operations would not undermine the determination and resolve of the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, the armed and security forces, and all military formations to defeat criminal organizations, primarily Al-Qaeda and ISIS, which collaborate with the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia.

The Crucial Role of Security and Intelligence

Emphasizing the importance of the security and intelligence apparatus, President Al-Alimi highlighted their role in tracking terrorist elements, drying up their sources, and cutting off their funding in coordination with regional and international partners. He recognized terrorism as a global phenomenon that requires a united effort to eradicate.

Condolences and Wishes for Recovery

On behalf of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, President Al-Alimi expressed deep condolences and sympathy to the families and loved ones of the martyred heroes. He also wished a speedy recovery to the wounded, demonstrating the nation’s solidarity in the face of adversity.

This call reflects Yemen’s ongoing commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens amidst challenging circumstances.
