Leadership Council Head meets judicial reps in Hadhramaut.
In a significant meeting held at the Presidential Palace in the city of Mukalla on Wednesday, His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, alongside council member Sheikh Osman Majali, convened with the heads of courts and public prosecutions representing the judicial authority in the Hadhramaut province.
The gathering, which was also attended by the Governor of Hadhramaut, Mabkhout bin Madi, underscored President Al-Alimi’s emphasis on the critical nature of engaging with the judicial authority representatives. This comes two years after the establishment of the Supreme Judicial Council, an initiative that has notably enhanced the visibility of the judicial authority’s role and significantly boosted public confidence in the courts and justice facilities. Such developments contribute to the enforcement of order and the supremacy of law.
President Al-Alimi reaffirmed the Presidential Leadership Council’s commitment to supporting the judiciary’s independence and the principle of separation of powers. He highlighted the judiciary’s crucial role in ensuring justice and equality among all citizens, safeguarding their rights, properties, and public freedoms. He stressed that the Council, along with the government as the executive authority, will uphold their constitutional and legal obligations to implement court decisions and orders, and comply with them.
Expressing his aspirations, President Al-Alimi looked forward to an increased role for the judiciary in Hadhramaut province, viewing it as a pivotal point in the desired partnership project deserving of the province’s residents.
Sheikh Osman Majali, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, also emphasized the judiciary’s role in supporting the efforts of local authorities and overseeing the state’s non-disposable assets without legal justification. He pointed out the importance of complementary relationships among all authorities to enhance citizens’ trust in state institutions and to build the best model in the liberated provinces.
This meeting signifies a crucial step towards reinforcing the judiciary’s role and fostering a collaborative environment among different branches of government to ensure the rule of law and public trust in governmental institutions.
