Lahj Tender Committee Opens Bids for New Al Hawta Roundabouts Projects

Lahj Province Advances Infrastructure Projects: Tender Envelopes Opened

In a significant step towards enhancing the infrastructure of Lahj Province, the Sub-committee for Tenders and Auctions convened today under the chairmanship of Governor Ahmed Turki. The meeting witnessed the opening of tender envelopes for three pivotal projects aimed at urban development in the city of Al Hawta for the year 2024.

Key Projects Underway

The session, attended by key officials including the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Awad Salah, the Deputy Governor, Mohammed Salam, and the General Director of Police, Brigadier Nasser Al-Shuhaiti, focused on the evaluation of bids for the construction and rehabilitation of two roundabouts and a park. These projects include the Road Intersection Roundabout in Rigal area, the Civil Service – Political Security Roundabout, and the Central Bank of Yemen Park.

The committee reviewed all proposals submitted by competing companies and approved the initiation of the two roundabout projects. These projects were then referred to the committee’s Rehabilitation and Analysis Division for further technical and financial evaluation.

Re-tendering for Central Bank Park

In a move to ensure transparency and quality, the committee decided to re-announce the tender for the Central Bank of Yemen Park project. It mandated the attendance of the contractor or their official representative during the envelope opening session, emphasizing the importance of this project to the city’s landscape.

Emphasis on Timely and Quality Completion

Governor Turki stressed the importance of adhering to the agreed timelines and quality standards set in the tender documents. He highlighted the necessity for the contracting companies to comply with the fundamental conditions of qualification, legal rules, financial specifications, and the detailed requirements of each project.
