King Salman Humanitarian Aid Center Signs New Agreements to Enhance Water Supply and Sanitation

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center recently signed a cooperation agreement via video conference with a civil society organization. This partnership aims to implement the eighth phase of the water supply and environmental sanitation project in the provinces of Hajjah and Saada, benefiting 30,422 individuals.

Project Details and Objectives

Under the agreement, signed by the Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs, Engineer Al-Bayz, the project will include several key initiatives. These initiatives involve:

  • Drilling and rehabilitating solar-powered wells
  • Installing pumping and distribution networks
  • Constructing and repairing storage tanks
  • Supplying drinking water purification stations
  • Transporting water via trucks
  • Distributing water storage containers and personal hygiene kits

The primary goal of this agreement focuses on reducing waterborne diseases and sanitation-related illnesses in the districts of Hayran, Medi, Abs, and Harad in Hajjah, as well as in the Al-Azhar camp in the Razih district of Saada.

Second Agreement for Al-Hudaydah Province

Additionally, the center signed a second agreement to implement the tenth phase of the water supply and environmental sanitation project in Al-Hudaydah province. This initiative will benefit 39,077 individuals and includes:

  • Transporting and distributing potable water
  • Improving sanitation services
  • Constructing 20 mobile toilets
  • Maintaining water tanks
  • Collecting and disposing of waste
  • Conducting health awareness campaigns

Commitment to Health and Safety

These agreements reflect the ongoing efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, to support the water and environmental sanitation sector. The initiatives aim to provide a safe and healthy environment across various provinces in the Republic.
