Jordan Condemns Israeli Attack on Residential Area in Gaza

The Jordanian government condemned the recent Israeli assault on a residential area in the Al-Nuseirat refugee camp, located in the central Gaza Strip. This attack resulted in numerous casualties, with many victims being women, children, and the elderly.

Strong Rejection of Violations

Sufyan Qudah, the official spokesperson for the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed Jordan’s absolute rejection and condemnation of Israel’s ongoing violations of international law and humanitarian law. He specifically referenced the 1949 Geneva Convention, which aims to protect civilians during wartime. Qudah highlighted Israel’s systematic targeting of innocent civilians amid a troubling lack of effective international accountability for those responsible for these attacks on Palestinians.

Call for International Action

Qudah reiterated the urgent need for the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities. He called for immediate action to compel Israel to cease its ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip. Furthermore, he urged the global community to hold accountable those responsible for crimes against the Palestinian people, ensuring they do not escape justice.

This condemnation underscores Jordan’s commitment to advocating for the rights and protection of civilians in conflict zones, emphasizing the necessity for global intervention in the ongoing crisis.
