Interior Minister Leads Supreme Police Council Meeting

In a significant gathering today in the temporary capital of Aden, Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haidan chaired a meeting of the Supreme Police Council. The primary focus of this meeting was to discuss the council’s action plan and agenda items dedicated to improving security performance and fostering institutional development across Yemen.

Acknowledging Security Efforts

During the meeting, Minister Haidan commended the achievements of various security units and agencies. He highlighted the critical need to intensify efforts to enhance security, which is essential for establishing stability and effectively serving the needs of citizens. Furthermore, the council reviewed decisions and recommendations from prior meetings, evaluating their implementation status to ensure accountability and progress.

Regular Promotions and Performance Enhancement

The council also sanctioned regular promotions for 14,698 officers and 77,217 non-commissioned officers and personnel from the Ministry of Interior, with this initiative set to be effective until the March 2026 cycle. This measure aims to motivate security personnel and enhance their operational capabilities.

In addition to promotions, the council deliberated on various matters regarding the improvement of both security and administrative performance within the police forces. Strategies were explored to increase the efficiency of these forces, with the goal of elevating security readiness to effectively tackle the diverse challenges facing the country. The council took appropriate actions in line with the regulations governing the ministry’s operations.
